So I went to the mall on Black Friday, which was absolute madness - it was almost as bad as the midnight premiere of New Moon (I work at a movie theater, so yeah); here's a silly little comic I posted on my dA account the other day detailing how crazy it was:



Yeah, kinda like that. Where was I? Oh yeah. Black Friday.

I decided to buy myself a used Nintendo DS and a game (Pokemon Platinum Version) because three of my friends have DS's already, and the last Pokemon game I had was Silver back when it first came out, so I figured, what the hell. I did NOT expect it to be so damn addictive. It's worse than World of Warcraft in that I have self-restraint with WoW, only played it twice a day since October and haven't played it for almost a week, but not with Platinum, nope.

That is precisely how long I've played it since I bought it yesterday afternoon. ALMOST 14 GODDAMN HOURS. I know I was hooked on Yellow and Silver when I had them years ago, but I don't remember if it was to this extent. My starter was a Piplup I nicknamed Mari after Hanafusa Mari (because I'm a loser like that) and as a sort of pun-- "Mari" being derived from "Marine" as in Water type and all. I just got the second Gym Badge and Mari is now a level 21 Prinplup. Including her, my party currently consists of a level 20 Staravia (Osa), a level 19 Luxia (Kimba), a level 18 Ponyta (Sleipnir), a level 17 Machop (Fei, after Wong Fei Hung), and a level 14 Budew (no nickname yet, and I need her for Cut where I am now). I have like, 43 mons listed in my Pokedex.

Okay, yeah, this is normal for me. I tend to hole myself up in my room when I get a new game. This isn't much different from Silent Hill 2 and 3, Ōkami, Twilight Princess, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, or Persona 3 (including FES) and 4. But considering I'm working 12 to 8 tomorrow and I have a lot of art homework to do by Wednesday, it's starting to worry me.

...well shit, now that I've been staying away from WoW and TV Tropes for a few days I just had to go and get something else to distract me.</p></div>

Hhokay. So. On Halloween tomorrow, I'll officially be 18. Yay, I'm legal! :D But anyway, I'm gonna be skipping school and all YAY! 'cause my sister's taking me to New York to see Wicked on Broadway. I'm really excited about that, and I know I'm only gonna get like, two hours of sleep, so yeah. In any case, Happy Halloween :D
